Adding images can be done two ways:

  1. You don't host the image and just use the url from a third party website.
  2. You want to host the image on Github.

If you want to host the image, here how it's done:

  1. Go to the media folder.
  2. Click on the add file button on the upper right corner.
  3. In the dropdown menu, click upload file.
  4. You arrive in a new page where you can drag and drop your images, do it!
  5. Once all the images you wanted are uploaded, click on the commit changes button below.

Either if you used an existing URL or uploaded a file, you will need to use the Markdown syntax for images to make them visible in your website.

In the page you want to put the image in, use this Markdown syntax: ![Text of my images](url_of_image Description of my image).

  1. If you use an existing URL, replace url_of_image with the url.
  2. If you uploaded a file on github, just write the name of the file (example: my-image.jpg)

In the second case, Chīsai will automatically create the url for you, so don't bother with it and just use the file name!

But maybe images are too much web 1.0 and you want to next big thing: youtube videos!
